Abstract: The balance between effective criminal investigations and the protection of human rights is currently intensively discussed. A number of approaches demonstrate a tendency that state authorities gain for more access to sensitive data. But do these information really help to prevent crimes (e.g. terrorist attacks) and how save are these information in the hands of state authorities'?
