Abstract: In 1996, The Surveillance Camera Players started manifesting theiropposition to the culture of surveillance by performing silent, speciallyadapted plays directly in front of CCTV cameras. 10 years after, theirwork is more relevant than ever. This talk will take you through artists'strategies to raise the debate on privacy, the society of the spectacle,the aftermath of September 11th, face recognition software, panopticism,electronic tagging, etc.
